Similarity of Adam and Isa: | |
The Miraculous birth:
|
ALLAH says:
Relate in the Book the story of Maryam when she retired from her people to a place eastward, for prayer and devotion Then We sent to her Our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects.
Seeing, all of a sudden, a man in her sanctum, she became scared and said to him, “I seek refuge from the Compassionate from you, if you are God-fearing.”
He said, I am but an envoy of your Lord to announce to you the gift of a holy son from your Lord, whose name is Masih, Isa the son of Maryam, illustrious in this world and in the Hereafter, and one of those who are near to Allah. He shall speak to people while he is still in cradle, and also later, when he is of mature age; and he shall one of the righteous.
She said; “O my Lord, how shall I have a son while no human has ever touched me?”
The angel said: “So it is; your Lord said, ‘It is easy for Me and (We will do this) so that We make it a sign for people and Mercy from Us, and this is a matter already destined.
So she conceived him, and went in seclusion with him to a remote place. Then the labour pains brought her to a date-palm.
She said “O that I would have died before this, and would have been something gone, forgotten. (She did not say this because of physical pain, but because of her premonition, that how will she explain to her people the birth of a child without a father?)
Then the angel came to her again and consoled,
“Do not grieve; your Lord has placed a stream beneath you. Shake the trunk of the tree and it will drop upon you ripe and fresh dates. So eat and drink. Then if you see any human being, say (to him) “I have vowed a fast of silence, for Allah and therefore I shall not speak to any human today.” (Such fast was quite common in those days)
Then she came to her people carrying the baby.
They said; “O Maryam, O sister of Haroon you have committed something grave indeed, neither your father was a man of evil nor was your mother unchaste. (This is an Arabic idiom; by calling her “sister of Haroon” they meant that being daughter of the most respected and religious family from the lineage of Prophet Haroon, how could have done such a thing).
In reply she pointed towards the baby.
They said; “How shall we speak to someone who is still a child in the cradle?”
Spoke the baby; “I am indeed, the servant of Allah. He has given me the Book, and made me a prophet, and He made me a blessed one wherever I be, and has enjoinedSalaat and Zakaat upon me as long as I am alive, and He has made me good to my mother, and He did not make me overbearing or miserable. And peace be upon me the day I am was born, the day I shall die, and the day I shall be raised alive again.

”Prophethood”:
|
(Recall) when Isa, son of Maryam, said;
“O children of Israel I am a messenger of Allah sent towards you, confirming the book which is sent down before me, that is, Torah, and to make permissible for you some of what was prohibited to you. I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. So, worship Him. This is the straight path.
I form for you out of clay the likeness of a bird, and then I breathe in it, and it becomes a bird by Allah’s leave. And I heal the blind from birth and the leper and revive the dead by Allah’s leave. And declare you what you have eaten and what you have stored in your houses. In this there is surely a sign for you, if you are truly believers. And I give you good news of a messenger who will come after me, whose name will be Ahmad.
So, when Isa sensed disbelief in them, he said: “Who are my helpers in the way of Allah?
The disciples said: “We are helpers of Allah. And we believe in Allah; so be our witness that we are Muslims. Our Lord we have believed in what You have revealed, and we have followed messenger. So record us with those who bear witness to the truth.”

The Miracle of Table Spread:
|
Recall when the disciples (of Isa) said
“O Isa, son of Maryam, can your Lord send down to us a repast from the heavens?” He said, “Fear Allah if you are believers.” They said “We wish that we eat from it, and our hearts be satisfied, and we may know for sure that you have told us the truth, and we may become witness to it.
Isa son of Maryam said “ O Allah our Lord, send down to us a repast from heaven which may be a happy occasion for us, for all our generations present and future, and a sign from You, and give us the provisions. You are the best Giver of Provisions.
Using Capernaum as a base, accompanied by his 12 chosen disciples,, Jesus traveled to neighboring towns and villages, proclaiming the advent of the kingdom of God, as had many Hebrew prophets before him.
When the sick and infirm asked help from him, he sought to heal them by divine power. He stressed the infinite love of God for the humble and weak, and promised pardon and eternal life in heaven to the most hardened sinners, provided their repentance was sincere.
Despite growing opposition, Jesus’ popularity increased, especially among social outcasts and oppressed.
Eventually, the enthusiasm of his followers led them to make an attempt to “take him by force, to make him king.” Jesus however frustrated this attempt, by withdrawing with his disciples, by ship, over the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, where he delivered a discourse, emphasizing spiritual communion with God, this sermon bewildered many in his audience, they thought it to be a “hard saying” ,thereupon they “drew back and no longer went about with him” (John 6:-15, 35,60 & 66)
On approach of Passover, Jesus traveled toward Jerusalem for the last time. On Sunday before the Passover he entered Jerusalem, where he was met by crowds of people who acclaimed him enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, the priest and scribes, concerned that Jesus’ activities would turn Romans against them and the Jewish people (John 11/48), conspired with Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples to arrest and kill Jesus by stealth, “for they feared the people” (Luke 22/2). John 11/47-53 places the conspiracy before Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
However the opponents of Isa did arrest and tried him, on charges of blasphemy; as claiming to be God or the son of God, at this he was naturally perturbed. By way of consolation Allah said:-
|
Ascension:
|
O Isa, I am to take you in full and to raise you towards Myself, and to cleanse you of those who disbelieve, and to place those who follow you above those who disbelieve, upto the Day of Doom. Then to Me is your return, whereupon I shall judge between you in that over which you have differed, I shall punish them a severe punishment in this world and in the Hereafter; and for them there are no helpers.”And for those who believe and do good deeds, Allah will give them their rewards in full. Allah does not like transgressors.
|
Jesus was neither killed nor crucified:
|
The opponents of Jesus had devised a plan to crucify him. To save him and frustrate his enemies’ plot Allah devised a plan. Allah lifted Jesus alive towards Himself.
Somebody who resembled Jesus in extraordinary degree was crucified by them, in his place, and Jesus escaped death at their hands altogether.
Allah’s plan succeeded. The opponents of Isa were unable to even detect it.
|
Second Coming:
|
And peace is to him on the day of his birth and death, and on the day he will be raised up.
Authentic Islamic literatures prophesy that Masih will descend in Syria, prior to coming of Day of Judgment. He will come as follower of Muhammad Rasoolullah (S.A.W.A.S). All human beings will respond to his call. Then he will die.
|
The Humanity of Isa:
|
The Masih, Isa, the son of Maryam, is only a Messenger of Allah, and His Word that He had delivered to Maryam, and a spirit from Him .The Masih shall never spurn to be a slave of Allah.
Call to mind when (on Judgment Day) Allah will say “O Isa, son of Maryam, did you say to the people ‘take me and my mother as gods besides Allah?’
He (Isa son of Maryam) will say; “Glory be to you, it was not for me to say that to which I had no right to say.” Had I said it you would have known it. You know what is in my heart, and I do not know what is in Yours. You have full knowledge of all that is unseen. I have not said to them anything but what You have ordered me to say, that is, “Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord” and I was a witness over them as long as I was with them. But when You recalled me, You were the One watching over them. You are a witness over everything. If you punish them, they are Your slaves after all, but if You forgive them, You are the Mighty, the Wise. “
Such was Isa the son of Maryam. It is the statement of truth, about which (The Christians dispute. (They say Masih is the son of Allah) It is not befitting to the majesty of Allah that He should beget a son. Glory is to Him!
|
The Trinity:
|
The opponents had charged Isa with blasphemy as claiming to be God or the son of God. He never claimed to be either. However the Christians adopted the substance of the claim, and made it the cornerstone of their faith. Allah clears Jesus of such a charge or claim.
So, believe in Allah and His Messengers. Do not say “Three”. Stop it. That is good for you. Allah is the only One God. Hallowed be He that there should be a son upto Him.

Maryam in Qur’an
Maryam (Mary
in Qur’an: -
Recall when the wife of Imran said, ‘my Lord! Surely I have
vowed to Thee what is
in my belly
to be dedicated; accept Thou this of me. Surely Thou! only Thou: art the Hearer, the Knower’. Then
when she bore her, she said, ‘my Lord! Surely I bore a female – And Allah knew best what she had born, – and
the male is not as the female, and surely. I have named her Maryam, and I commit her and her progeny
to Thee for protection from Satan the
accursed’! (Surah ‘Al-e-‘Imran, 3/35-36)
And mention,
thou in the Book Maryam, when she
retired from her people to a place eastward. Then she took beside them a
curtain. Then We sent unto her Our spirit, and he appeared to her in the form
of a sound human being. She said: verily I take refuge with Compassionate from
thee if thou art God-fearing. He said: I am but an envoy of thy Lord, and have
come to bestow on thee a boy, faultless. (Surah
Maryam, 19/16-19)
Recall
when the angels said, ‘O Maryam! Surely
Allah announces to thee a word from
Him: his name shall be the Masih, Isa son of Maryam, illustrious in this
world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought nigh. And he shall speak to
mankind in the cradle and maturity and be one of the righteous. She said, ‘my
Lord! how will there be a son unto me while no man has touched me’! Allah said, ‘so it shall be. Allah creates what He will’. When He
decrees a thing, He only says to it, ‘Be’, and it becomes. (Surah ‘Al-e-‘Imran, 3/45-47)
And
as to see who guarded her chastity, We breathed into her of Our spirit, and
made her and her son a sign unto the worlds. (Surah Al-Anbiya’, 21/96)
Then she
conceived him, and she retired with him to place far-off. Then the birth-pangs
drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree. She said: would that I had died before
this and had become forgotten, lost in oblivion. Then one called from
underneath her: grieve not, thy Lord has placed underneath thee a rivulet. And
shake towards thee the trunk of the palm trees, dates will drop on thee fresh
and ripe. So eat and drink thou, and cool thine eyes, and if thou seest of
humans any one, say thou: verily I have vowed to the Compassionate a fast, so I
shall not speak to anyone today. Then she brought the baby to her people
carrying him. They said: O Maryam! thou
has brought a thing unheard of. O sister
of Harun: thy father was not a
man of evil nor was thy mother unchaste. Then
she pointed to him. They said: how can we speak to one who is in the cradle, a
mere child? He said: verily I am a bondman of Allah. He has given me the Book and made me a prophet. And he has
made me blessed wherever I may be and enjoined on my prayer and purity as long
as I am alive. And dutiful to my mother, and not made me high-handed and
unblest. And peace be on me the day I was born and the day I die and the day I
am raised up. Such is Isa, son of Maryam; this is the word of
truth, wherein they are doubting. (Surah
Maryam, 19/22-34)
And for their
blasphemy and for the uttering against Maryam
a grievous calumny. (Surah An-Nisa’,
4/1
